Review Hand of Fate 2 (Switch eShop)
All hands on deck
We’ve seen plenty of genres successfully spliced together during Nintendo Switch’s lifetime - including the exploration and fisticuffs of Pato Box and the RPG/base-building magic of Dragon Quest Builders - but nothing quite like Defiant Development’s long-awaited sequel. Fusing the basic premise of a deck-building card game...

Guide Hidden Gems On Nintendo Switch eShop
Find these buried treasures on the Switch eShop
The term ‘hidden gem’ gets bandied around a lot, and often erroneously; an occasionally overlooked entry in a long-running, celebrated franchise isn't a hidden gem. Of course, sometimes the game in question truly went unnoticed and unloved by the masses and is worth digging up, but more often than...

"That is a risky way to make games, and we knew that"
Australian studio Defiant Development hasn't exactly been a prolific publisher on Nintendo platforms over the years, but we really loved Hand of Fate 2 when it popped on to the Switch eShop last year – we gave it a coveted 9/10 in our review. Fusing the basic premise of a deck-building card...

This was a ”Day One” purchase for me and I have to say that I’m very very very impressed how well they ported this game to the Switch. Controls are great, gameplay is what it should be (and what one expects) but the biggest surprise for me was how stunning this looks and performs on the Switch hardware! It's actually exactly like on the screenshots - and I thought they where made with the desktop version....
Is Nintendo Life going to review this game?
Hand of Fate 2 = "Lousy Switch ports. Seriously, the game crashes approximately every hour! I'm talking about full crash, back to home screen. Unacceptable." + "I simultaneously want to keep playing it and also to never touch it again. As a result, I have no idea how to rate this. I guess I will rate it right down the middle, with a few bonus points for the truly amazing voice talent." => utter trash
