Review The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (Wii U eShop / DS)
Choo-choo-choose the original format
No doubt partly driven by necessity as much as strategy, Nintendo's Virtual Console efforts on Wii U have been notable for including not only Game Boy Advance titles, but also various releases from the DS library. With the latter only possible courtesy of the Wii U GamePad questions of practicality are fairly...

Talking Point What DS & 3DS Games Would You Still Like To See On Switch?
Dual-screen dreams
We are still receiving top-notch releases by the bucketload on Switch, but as the console enters the latter phase of its lifespan, we are well and truly in remake & remaster territory. The Wii U barrel has quickly run dry (though some remain that we'd like to see make the jump to the hybrid) and recent years have seen Nintendo...

About The Game
All Aboard for an Amazing New Adventure!
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks sets hero Link™ on a daring new adventure. The game provides players with a new story, more puzzles and even a new mode of transportation. In this game, Link voyages by train, which offers up new possibilities for problem-solving. The game has the same look and feel established in the hit Nintendo DS game The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
FEATURES:
- Link has a valuable new companion. While navigating dungeons, he's accompanied by a Phantom, a hulking suit of armor that responds to his commands. Players can tap the Phantom to take command of him, then draw a line on the touch screen to direct him where to go. The stout Phantom can walk through fire or lava, be used as a platform to carry Link above dangers, or even run interference to block Link from harm.
- When Link conducts the train, players enjoy a satisfying combination of action and real-time puzzle solving as they determine which track to take and how to best manipulate their speed. When on the train, Link must plot the best route to the end of the line around ever-moving obstacles. While en route, Link might need to fire an onboard cannon at enemies who attack the train or sound the whistle to scare animals off the tracks.
- Link uses a variety of new items and weapons, including the Whirlwind, which players activate by blowing into the microphone of the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi™ system.
- As with The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, players can draw notes on the in-game maps using the stylus on the touch screen.

My biggest question is how they plan to incorporate Wi-fi this time. I'm a huge fan of the online play they added in PH. I still play it. It's just that much fun.
its basically phantom hourglass, but a train is used for transport, not boat, its a great improvement though, oh and KnucklesSonic8, they said that theyre not gonna focus on wi-fi that much...
Cannot wait.
I loved Phantom Hour glass but I thought that the dungeons were too easy.The first dungeon I finished in 5 min. I hope this game is more challenging.
lol choo choo train
But seriously, this looks quite good. I never played phantom hourglass.... I'm not sure why! I think my sister has it, maybe I will have to borrow it some time. But anyway, the dual-screen boss battle in the video looks epic.
The official North America release date is December 7, 2009.
Can't wait!
@Chipmunk777 - haha, @jhuhn - OMIGOD I CAN'T WAIT!
Well, I'm glad I picked up Phantom Hourglass: so that I could beat it and get a good feel of what's expected from Spirit Tracks.
This is gonna be awesome!
As long as this game doesn't have a main dungeon that you have to go to constantly I am in. Well actually I'll probably get it anyway
SPOILER ALERT:
zelda dies in this game
@ryanknight717- 'O'
This Christmas is gonna be awesomeful!
Can't wait for this!
Tomorrow is the day I will get my hands on this gem.
Love this game
Ran across this

listen to it if you want to hear a very zelda like soundtrack very dramatic... Listen to this as you play. it will set a mood!!
Some parts are easy, some are hard.
Some parts are easy, some are hard.
Just so all know, linebecks ANCESTOr is in this game. linebecks grave is here, too
This game is simply amazing. But not as good as Twilight Princess.
Yea I'm already waiting for the sequel.
Twilight princess can't be beat. But this would go in second. Phantom hourglass was okay... I like the Zelda games with good graphics, that is the best part. I need more Zelda.
I bought mine on April 18, so I've been playing it for over a month now. I bought Nintendo DSi XL on Mother's Day. The view when riding the train is perfect for the big and bright of DSi XL! I'm glad I already have my DSi XL at this time I'm playing Spirit Tracks
phantom hourglass was better.
still amazing game though i love it, but for some reason i beat it like twice as fast as PH... less sidequests in ST
i like console zeldas better even though as long as its zelda it will be fun
@dragoon
technicaly she doesnt die. her spirit is sucked from her body
sob sob
the train ruined this game for me, it was too slow and took up like 40% of the game just watching a train and occasionally tapping a bad guy to kill him. other then that, the actual levels were good if a bit short.
How does the game control on a 3DS? I heard playing the spirit flute can be really hard.
I am playing this again for the 3rd time through. Just started tonight. Wonderful, wonderful game that we must not forget. Looking forward to the new Zelda 3DS title in the works! @SkywardLink98 Yes, the spirit flute can be quite tough. The microphone on my 3DS (and others, I hear) doesn't pick up your breath as easily as my older DSi and DS did. This is still one of my favorite DS games, though.
This game blew me away. Wow. The over world music was very catching and had me humming the tune all day long. Would LOVE to see Zelda with a big role like this in future Zelda games!
i love this game so much, even though i never actually beat it.........
Hmmmmm......
Can the single-player game be played in co-op? Looking for something I can play with my son (8y) on a long plane trip.
My God, I love this game.
Criminally underrated/forgotten. My first Zelda game. I got when I was six and I’m still stuck on the last dungeon lol. I’m getting around to it soon...
