The perfect strings for my German violin...

It took several years of experimenting with various brands before I finally (!) found the perfect strings for my c. 1900 violin made in Markneukirchen, Germany. These strings have the right balance of brilliance on the E and A strings coupled with the deep resonances needed on the D and G strings to provide the most pleasing sounds for my taste. I wouldn't be without a spare set in my case.

Weakness on the E string

I purchased a set a year ago and while I liked them, I had a problem with the E string. Not long after playing on them the E began to produce a loud harmonic, rather than the true sound. I contacted Thomastik/Infeld and was told that it was “normal”, but I knew it wasn’t right at all. Sure enough, within a couple of days the string broke while I was playing. I was not offered a replacement for was was obviously a flawed product. I will not buy them again - not for that price.

Definitely Recommend

I went from the dominants to these, and I like the Infelds a lot better! They have a very full sound! Definitely recommend!!
