Ofc you'll get some new games. But the games that were released on 8th gen consoles but not on Switch will most likely be released for Switch 2.

I mean personally I would like to play Assassin's Creed Mirage and MAYBE Shadows (still iffy on it) on the Switch 2.

Very curious to see how updated Switch 1 games are handled on 2; full price to update? Like, If Prince of Persia gets a Switch 2 facelift and I already owned it on Switch 1... (This goes for all games, not just Ubi)

@canaryfarmer : I suspect that third parties may be just a smidge more charitable in that respect, while Nintendo will be Nintendo.

Before I believe in Ubisoft's commitment to the Swiitch, I have to see their commitment to get out of the hole that probably they dug themselves into.

Surprised anyone would care about ports of games from Ubisoft on future consoles (especially with most of their more modern games not being well loved by their fanbase) when we have most of their games already on current things and yet they are still failing.

Assassin's Creed is obvious whichever later ones as just the early entries in the series made sense even if in a way 3 and 4 were on Wii U while others the Switch got were fair I guess of collections/remasters/ports. But the Ezio collection, 3, 4, Liberation (Vita) and others sure. But otherwise when it gets to the later entries and them not downscaling the PS4/Xbox One entries was interesting to see. I don't care either way for the series but it is still interesting to see how far they went.

Will we see a Mario Rabbids bundle? Maybe? I doubt a 3rd game as Sparks of Hope didn't sell well even if it's 'such a big improvement' and was so good it sucks it didn't sell well. But it was quite late and a bigger scale title not surprised it took that long.

Far Cry anything maybe 6 would be a surprise to appear on Switch 2. I mean as if they couldn't have offered Far Cry 2, 3, (I doubt they care to offer the Instincts/other ones from OG Xbox or Wii to Switch at all) but nothing at all is just weird. Or did they give up on archiving those but Assassin's Creed they would. XD Why not just try, Yakuza on Wii U sure tried but probably wasn't right. I mean they need to try hard putting out at least 1 title on the systems.

A Red Steel 1 & 2 collection won't happen or Red Steel 2 VR but Far Cry not on Switch, is it too crazy for Nintendo fans? Clearly not but Ubi are just too lazy.

Whatever the case of Tom Clancy games of the past they care to offer/archive. Rayman remasters either. We will have to wait years for a new Rayman 2D or 3D.

In terms of a different game happening who knows. Seeing Mario Rabbids was surprising and while I got to them late I love them a lot like Red Steel 2 was so good on Wii. Or ZombiU on Wii U.

Ubisoft hasn't made much I care about other than Mario Rabbids or Prince of Persia these days, Rayman DLC is not something I wanted to see and I'm just buying their old games from different series instead to see what I missed.

But the current direction of their games or IP how they could be handled I don't have much hopes/care for really. Unless they have another Mario Rabbids or Immortals Fenix Rising type surprise I've very much not interested in the slightest and not interested in ports.

Getting different titles releasing like Snake Pass (got recently I know is on other platforms but still thought of as a Switch title) are great to see, but rarely when we see them from different third parties.

And you can bet every title will be a live service, microtransaction, pre-order ultimate gold platinum edition extravaganza.

I just want GTA V on Switch 2.

Will Ubisoft even live long enough as a company for that to happen?

Everyone are now guessing blindly. Those who got right gets worshipped like a god even if they just guessed 1-2 right games of 20.

I’d personally bend (2nd hand) for a new Xenoblade. I’m dying to play those games at 60fps. So the only way Nintendo could nail this is by having Switch backwards compatibility, with upgraded performance patches for all their mainline games at the very LEAST.

PS4 could run it if they actually cared about it. It's not a very heavy game when it comes to talk about how many characters or things are happening on screen.

I’m not a big Ubi fan, but I am excited for lots of ports. To me, being able to play the best PS4-era games on the go is a huge draw.

If these ports let you skip the Ubisoft account registration, like the Switch version of Prince of Persia, then that would be a killer "feature" for me.

Interested in AC Mirage, and could buy it on Xbox or PC, but refuse to pay with my e-mail address when I already paid for the game.

As someone who owns a PS5 im not interested in ports of old games, I want to see the exclusives. Shame Square Enix aren't doing exclusives anymore which means no more Harvestella, Bravely Default and smaller titles that Nintendo took a chance on.

It's Ubisoft, so it will be some old games they port for maximum profits.

But Ubisoft is currently in shambles, with all new releases delayed and/or outright canceled. They are hemorrhaging cash.
So it's to be seen if they are even still around by the time the Switch 2 launches.

Good to see they've taken the breakup with the Sony and Microsoft fanbases well and are keen to move on with their lives at Ubisoft HQ.

I don't think people are aware what implies that they manage to run properly AC Shadows in the system. That would mean we could be getting pretty much all the big AAA multiplatform games on the Switch 2, at least until the next generation is released.
It would be HUGE, guys! I can't help but being pretty excited here, although I should lower the expectations lol. It's Nintendo we are talking about.

This isn't surprising, I think much like the switch received many ports of ps2/3 era games, the switch 2 will get ps4 era ports especially if the reports of it being roughly the same power as a ps4 are true. It's an easy way for the publishers to make an extra bit of money from pre existing games and gives us an opportunity to have some older favourites in a portable format or a chance to play something you might have missed first time around

Not overly keen on Ubisoft franchises but support is support.

Even less interested in EA franchises but wonder what their support for Switch 2 will be? Not really a fan of the Sims games but thought they missed a trick with no Sims 3 or 4 on OG Switch.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is one of my favourite games. The sequel I am enjoying less. But why would I be interested in a Mario Rabbids collection if I can play the older Switch titels via Backwards compatibility? Kingdom Battle still looks good to me for a 2017 game.

But in general I am not really interested in ports of games I already have on the Switch. I already played and finished them. And when I bought the games I was ok with the performance/quality of the game.

New games and ports that haven't released on Switch yet I am looking forward to.

I really hope Nintendo is launching with a killer app. Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart solidified the Switch as a must have right out of the gate. If I’m not mistaken, Wii U launched with ports that were well out of the limelight by the time.

Just give us a Rayman Collection, that is all. I'm not even asking for a new game either cause I know UbiSoft would find a way to screw that up.

I'd like to play another Watch_Dogs game. I enjoyed the first on Wii U.

Loved Prince of Persia the Lost Crown and Sparks of Hope was great so I'm not on the Ubashing train.
Ubisoft really supported the Wii U out the gate and I think they made up half my library for a few years so this seems like an inevitability.

That said I can't think of a recent one of their games I'm chomping at the bit to play that I haven't.

Nope sorry guys, Ubisoft is going to be made an example of so other developers and studios don't keep down this path, their last hope for survival, Assassin's Creed Shadows will flops, there won't be a Ubisoft by the end of 2025 and the entire gaming community will be comfortable not owning UBISOFT games anymore.

Ubisoft and EVERY studio/developer needs to be reminded who pays their bills and ultimately who their bosses are, Ubisoft and many other studios forgot, but we'll use Ubisoft as a reminder for the rest of them, their spectre will serve as a warning to others.

So unfortunately no Mario & Rabbids games anymore. I assume the full rights will be sold to Nintendo when they eventually fold like a wet napkin when their last hope fails them.

@PinderSchloss It was reported late last year Ubisoft are in the early stages of creating a new Rayman game with Michel Ancel involved as a consultant to ensure consistency within the universe and they are also working on a remake. I would love to see them do with Rayman what they done with 'Crash Bandicoot' and 'Spyro the Dragon' and bring out a collection of Rayman, Rayman 2: The Great Escape and 'Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc' with modern graphics and bonus things. 😀

Also, I don't know if you heard of it but there was a remake of 'Rayman 2: The Great Escape' called 'Rayman Revolution' on Playstation 2 and it had upgraded graphics along with new areas and new bosses that weren't in the original game.

It is a shame we can't get an 'Immortals: Fenix Rising 2.' I loved the first game and still play it now but there are some very similar looking games on the way that have heavily borrowed from it and 'Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.'

You could tell me one of my friends had died and I still wouldn't be as disappointed as when I see an Ubisoft article on here.

I would actually love a Switch 2 remaster of the French Assassin's Creed (Brotherhood? Union? Something with a U in the name..?)

Before it was updated, that game experimented with crowd density, and with the Switch 2's upscaling feature set, I think they could really dial up all its bells and whistles. Not to mention I also enjoyed its PvP multiplayer at the time.

@somnambulance What if Rockstar Games confirms Grand Theft Auto VI for Nintendo Switch 2 and the development studios uses 1080p in handheld and 4K maximum in docked mode via DLSS and AI upscaled technology? Not to mention using ray tracing and the option to turn anti-aliasing on or off.

Say whatever you want about Ubisoft, but they are pretty enthusiastic when it comes to supporting new systems. And it seems they will support the Switch 2 quite nicely. After all, they were one of the best 3rd party developers on Switch 1.

I mean, it will be cool to play the division 2 on switch 2 on handheld and tv mode, as long as it's 60 fps. Also ac blackflag remaster maybe, just add 1080p and 60 fps upgrade. Or maybe prince of persia trilogy remaster (not remake), also with 1080p and 60 fps 😃

@wiiware I think it'd struggle with 60 to be honest unless theres dlss magic happening, though they can trim the graphical fidelity down. I play the division 1 on steam deck, on high I get around 45fps - just trying to temper expectations is all based on what could be achievable - its the dlss aspect that could really help here if it is incorporated

@PinballBuzzbro I'd be happy if it was AC:Shadows at least close to launch. But if it's some time in 2026 when we've all already forgotten about it whats the point.
Overall though its a shame if Ubi cant realise their best outings are games that are made with devices like the Switch at least partly in mind rather than the shallow graphical showpieces they churn out for the main consoles.

Ubisoft always support day one then step away. So this doesn’t surprise me, but the dozen titles do not sound like titles you would rush out and buy. Especially when all their previous switch releases will still work.
So unless there’s a switch 2 exclusive like say Zombie 2 i can’t see the point.

The feeling of stepping away is due to the fact that Nintendo's hardware releases are async now with the other vendors.

@ozwally Yeah, the ps4 version is 30 fps afterall. Speaking of the division 2, I play the demo on ps4 and the full game on ps5, the different between ps4 30 fps and ps5 60 fps is like day and night, it's so smooth on ps5 it's like a different game.

I really hope the switch 2 is at least powerful enough to play ps4 games port at 60 fps with dlss, maybe 720p on portable mode and 900p/1080p on tv.

@wiiware likewise, 60fps would be great if we can have it across multiple games - I'm sure atleast Nintendo games will push for this (but not all). I've only experience 60fps in a few games, but when I did the experience was so nice - I'm not someone who cares about fps aslong as its stable and as close to 30 as possible but based on the experiences of 60 I've had it'd be amazing for most games to hit that!
