The Lost Woods, Hyrule Forest, The Eternal Forest — it doesn't matter what it's called, if you've played a Zelda game, then you know what Echoes of Wisdom's Eternal Forest is home to.
You can visit the Eternal Forest at any point in the game, but you won't be able to unlock its secrets until you unlock the Main Quest The Prime Energy and Null — which you unlock after clearing Eldin Temple, Lanayru Temple, and Faron Temple and getting Din's Sanction, Nayru's Sanction, and Farore's Sanction.
In this Eternal Forest walkthrough, we're covering the first part of The Prime Energy and Null Main Quest, which includes the events at Hyrule Castle after getting the Goddess Sanctions, how to reach the Eternal Forest, where to find the Six Pedestals, and how to get through the Stilled Ancient Ruins Rift.
Note: Beware of spoilers for the whole of Echoes of Wisdom in this guide; if you haven't reached the final quest yet and don't want to be spoiled, don't scroll down!

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Walkthrough - The Prime Energy and Null Main Quest
If you've saved the Hebra, Eldin, and Faron regions, after you get the final Goddess Sanction, you'll find out where Null has been hiding this whole time.Turns out that Null has been waiting for Zelda to do all of the work for him! Sneaky. He also creates an Echo of the Princess and runs off with the Goddess Sanctions.
Zelda will eventually wake up in her room in Hyrule Castle. Head to the throne room and speak to the king to find out more about the Prime Energy, which is what Null is after. You'll also find out where your next destination is — The Eternal Forest.
At this point in the game, a bunch more Side Quests have opened up and you can freely explore the land. So if you want to do anything else, check out our guides on Side Quests, All Echoes, and All Stamps.
The Eternal Forest Walkthrough

The Eternal Forest is fairly close — it's just northwest of Hyrule Castle Town, or west of Northern Sanctuary, where you can find out about a rare monster.
Even better, you should have activated a Waypoint just outside of the forest on the way to Hebra Mountain. If you have, use that. If not, warp to Northern Sanctuary Waypoint, and head west.
Once you head inside, it will get foggy. Just follow the circular path north and you'll eventually reach a clearing with the captain and some guards.
After a cutscene, examine the pedestal to reveal a triangular-shaped puzzle and an orb. You can grab the Ancient Orb Echo, and you need to find six pedestals across the forest and place the Orb Echo on each one.
The Six Pedestals
The huge slate in front of you is actually a great clue as to where all six pedestals are located in the forest — you basically need to follow a triangular path through the forest to find each one. We've marked them on the map below.
The shape is pretty familiar...

If you're still not sure where to look, we've listed all six locations below:
- Just in front of the stone tablet where you got the Ancient Orb
- Head southwest and follow the path to a Blue Sword Moblin. The pedestal should be near here.
- Keep heading southwest and walk through a small clearing to find the next pedestal.
- Along the south, tucked by some trees in the middle of the forest.
- On the southeast corner, tucked right in between some trees.
- Northwest, pull the Deku Baba off of the pedestal and place the orb.
Head back to the stone tablet and you'll reveal a hidden pathway. Walk north to meet the Deku Tree, who will explain what's going on and will let you enter the Ancient Ruins.
Inside the Ruins, you'll catch up to Zelda's imposter. A cutscene will play where Null reveals its intentions and plunges the world into a huge rift. Tri opens up an entrance for you, and you need to pursue your Echo and save Hyrule.

Stilled Ancient Ruins Rift
Despite this being a rift, there isn't actually much to it. There are a few branching paths along the way, and depending on what direction you go in, you'll have to deal with different elements.
The first section of the Rift is similar to the Suthorn region and Hyrule FIelds, full of grass. Most of the enemies here are weaker grass-like foes like Peahats and Moblins, so deal with them using whatever Echoes you have.

At the end of the grassy section, you can either go right through a Jabul Waters-like area or left to progress through the Gerudo Desert-like sands. The waters will have you dealing with large bodies of water, fish enemies, and Biri. The desert is home to sand piranha and other Gerudo-native monsters.
Whichever way you end up going, you'll end up in the icy regions of the Hebra Mountain. Freezard enemies can cause a headache, so use fire-based Echoes or your bombs to deal with them. or just block their path with other Echoes. You'll have to melt plenty of icicles along the way too.
The next area is based on the Faron Wetlands, which means electricity. It's easier to just avoid these enemies rather than dealing with them. The Buzz Blobs in particular sit in shallow pools of water, meaning their attacks have a much bigger range. Just keep heading right until you reach the Eldin Volcano section.
Lava! Of course. Lava Rocks are your friend, but so are any flying and gliding Echoes such as the Ghirro. The first section requires you to pop a Lava Rock on the geysers, but most of the other pools allow you to pick how you progress — either use Lava Rocks or fly using the steam vents.
The Eldin area also contains some Lizalfos, which are some of the more annoying enemies in Echoes of Wisdom. They'll jump around a lot, so use your Echoes to deal with them.
Eventually, you'll need to use a flying Echo to head west towards a small grassy platform. From here, climb up to the top with some stacking objects and you'll reach your final Waypoint and a plateau which looks like a piece of made up of every region in Hyrule.
